The Postgraduate Program at UIN SATU Tulungagung was established in 2004 when the institution was still a State Islamic College (STAIN). The establishment was based on the Decree of the Director General of Islamic Education of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia number Dj.I/477/2004. This regulation served as a reference for the Postgraduate Program to organize several study programs. Initially, the UIN SATU Tulungagung Postgraduate Program only offered a Master’s in Islamic Education Management. In line with the community’s need for the development of knowledge at the master’s level, the postgraduate program opened other study programs. The Postgraduate Program currently has 12 master’s programs: 1). Islamic Education Management, 2). Sharia Economic Law, 3). Qur’anic and Tafsir Studies, 4). Arabic Language Education, 5). MI Teacher Education, 6). Islamic Religious Education, 7). Islamic Aqidah and Philosophy, 8). Sharia Economics, 9). Islamic Family Law, 10). English Language Tadris, 11). Islamic Studies, and 12). Mathematics Tadris.
The Master’s in Islamic Family Law (HKI) program was organized by the UIN SATU Tulungagung Postgraduate Program in consideration of the community’s need for the development of HKI knowledge. The Master’s in HKI program began operating on May 31, 2017, based on a license from the Director General of Islamic Education of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia with Decree Number 3033 of 2017. Then, in 2021, the Master’s in HKI program obtained a B accreditation rating based on Decree Number 13412/SK/BAN-PT/Ak-PNB/M/XII/2021. This B accreditation status was then converted to ‘Baik Sekali’ (Very Good) through Decree Number 4158/SK/BAN-PT/Ak.KP/M/V/2024.
